My licence has been endorsed / I have been disqualified from driving, how do I get my licence back?

When your licence has been endorsed or you have been disqualified from driving, you will need to surrender your paper licence to the court. If you do not bring your licence with you on the day of the hearing you MUST bring it to court within 7 days of the date of your hearing. Failure to surrender your licence is a further offence and you may be summonsed to court if you do not submit your licence within that time period. If you have lost your driving licence please explain this to the court and records will be amended to reflect this.

Once your licence has been surrendered it is sent to the police for the endorsement to take place. Where you have been disqualified from driving your licence is sent to the police for their safe keeping during your period of disqualification. Once your disqualification has ended or your licence has been endorsed you may request it to be returned to you. You must contact the licensing bureau at the police to do this.
