Members of the Tax Appeal Tribunal are appointed by His Excellency the Governor of the Falkland Islands for a specified term.

Before dealing with any matters, each member is required to take the following oath of secrecy.  All staff who have contact with Tax Appeal Tribunal matters have taken this oath.

I [name] do swear/solemnly and sincerely affirm that in connection with my official duty and or employment in the administration of the Taxes Ordinance 1997, I shall regard and deal with all documents, information and returns relating to the income or items of income of any person as secret and confidential, and except as may be authorized or required in accordance with that Ordinance to do I will not directly nor indirectly reveal such matters
